1 child under the age of 5 dies every 20 seconds from vaccine-preventable disease. Countless more survive but suffer through unnecessary & painful illnesses. There’s no question-vaccines are safe & save lives. @CDCgov National Infant Immunization Week #ivax2protect @AAPneonatal https://t.co/CW4BB18JmC EBNEO photo

@babydoctorblog Indeed - the 6h mark is often used to exclude. A hard line for some, a soft one for others. The reviewed article is the best evidence we currently have and the imprecise estimate suggests a modest benefit. Hence the intrigue of the poll question. Seems like most would still cool!

@TexasKidDoc The referring center used to passively cool, but stopped after two cases inadvertent hypothermia below 33 C!

A 38w GA infant is born via emergent C/S for placental abruption. He's intubated w/ NRP; UA gas at 30m is 6.9/46/70/9/-18. He arrives at your center at 8 HOL following transport delays. He is hypotonic, poorly responsive and has few spontaneous movements. #ebneopolls
